Love

Is there really such a thing as Love?
For me its a dream that is drilled into each of us, by our parents, the social environment, and even to a large extent, our ever more powerfull meida, its like the concept of a god, or a a devil /satam or whatever it is we call the so called universal evil being.
An idea that someone came up with a hell of a long time ago, that proved to be extremly convinient in the daily lives and hence caught on as quickly. An excuse for the crazy things that we do when we have a fatal sexual attraction towards a potential mate. the seemingly more decent way of breaking the ice to the society.
The basic question is, is there really such a thing in nature? Is there any evidence to prove its existance? or is our instant sexual chemistry, the infactuation or the crushes, that we know as love today. Our general attraction to a potential mate is a documented fact, but its also been found that there are certain general traits that we have been hardwired to look for in a mate, the extent of importance given to each of these traits, and their priorities is probably what explains our unique choices. And these factors can be shaped by our biological makeup and social upbringing. But in this case where does love come in?
Virtually every socially acceptable act of ours in our modern social settings is handed down to us as tradition from generation to generation, and sadly accepted by us without questioning. The concepts of career, money, nations, religion, marriage, and even family, do they really have a natural basis? Is there any basis to assume that they do? or are they just concepts designed to keep us in check, to exploit, to keep us from thinking out of the box, to supress the unbelievable potential of the human mind to conceptualise things as they never were before.
